Vivek Agnihotri’s follow-up to The Kashmir Files: The Vaccine War has been announced for Independence Day 2023
Vivek Agnihotri’s follow-up to The Kashmir Files has been announced. The Vaccine War will be directed by Agnihotri and produced by his wife Pallavi Joshi. There are no additional plot details available, but the filmmaker did share two posters for the film and revealed that it is based on a true story and will be released in 11 languages.
“Presenting ‘THE VACCINE WAR’ – an incredible true story of a war you did not know India fought,” And it won because of its science, bravery, and great Indian values. It will be released on July 4, 2023. In 11 different languages.” Agnihotri wrote in a tweet announcing the film.
The title is printed on a vaccine vial in the poster. The tagline reads, “A war you did not realize you were fighting.” And triumphed.” Agnihotri will work again with his Kashmir Files producer, Abhishek Aggarwal, who also produced Karthikeya 2 and is attached to an upcoming biopic of former President APJ Abdul Kalam.
The Vaccine War is said to be centered on India’s contributions to the race to develop a Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic. “When COVID arrived, India had nothing to fight against.” The superpowers of medical infrared blackmailed us and abandoned us to die. But, lacking resources, our scientists fought back as if it were their dharma. “We created the fastest and safest vaccine, an infra that every Indian can be proud of,” Agnihotri tweeted just a few days ago. Around the same time, it was reported that he intends to shoot the entire film in Lucknow.
Agnihotri previously announced that the second installment of his anthology series of films based on recent Indian history will be directed by him. The Delhi Files will be released in 2024. The film is expected to be set during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which were recently dramatized on film in Netflix’s Jogi, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starring Diljit Dosanjh. The Kashmir Files remains one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2022, grossing around Rs 350 crore worldwide. It defied polarized reviews and became a word-of-mouth hit, despite many critics accusing it of misrepresenting facts and instilling communal hatred.
