Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi took a journey on Mumbai Metro and delighted fans with a performance of their song Main Khiladi
Selfiee, a film starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi , will be released on February 24. Days before the film’s premiere, the actors were seen promoting it unusually, by meeting fans within the Mumbai Metro and dancing to their song Main Khiladi while on the move.
On Thursday, paparazzi and fan sites on Instagram released a video of Akshay Kumar and Emraan entering a freshly opened Mumbai Metro station with their security and entourage. At one point, the performers are seen running and catching a train. They were joined by a flash mob once inside the train, and they stood up from their seats to dance along with them to their song Main Khiladi.
The hook step from the song, which was released on February 1, was performed by Akshay, who was clad in grey track trousers with a jumper, black cap, and mask, and Emraan, who was dressed in blue denim and jacket. An Instagram user commented on their video, which was published on a paparazzo account, saying, “Oh my God, what’s everything they have to do for advertising.” Another said, “Promotion ke liye kuch bhi karte hai” (they can do anything to promote their movies).
Main Khiladi is a remake of one of Akshay Kumar’s biggest hits from his 1994 action-comedy, Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan appeared in the original song. The 2023 remake likewise stars Akshay, but this time alongside Emraan Hashmi. Both performers perform catchy dance steps in colorful costumes in the rendition.
Suraj Venjaramoodu and Prithviraj Sukumaran star in Selfiee, an adaptation of the Malayalam film Driving Licence. Selfiee is also co-produced by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is anticipated to appear in a cameo role. Raj Mehta directed Selfiee, which also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha.
In the film, Akshay plays the role of a superstar named Vijay Kumar, and Emraan’s character (an RTO officer) is a huge fan of Akshay and wants to meet him and snap a selfie with him. They got into an argument over Akshay’s driver’s license. On Wednesday, the actors of Selfiee released the film’s second trailer. Akshay shared the trailer on Instagram, writing, “Aam aadmi ki kahaani toh bahot sun li, ab Vijay Kumar ki bhi sun lo (You’ve heard the ordinary man’s narrative; now hear Vijay Kumar’s story).
