The country celebrated the 75th Republic Day today marking a quarter decade to the adoption of the Constitution of India. French President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupdi Murmu and other dignitaries attended the event at Kartavya Path.

The grand parades on the famous Kartvya path featured the participation of the Indian armed forces and paramilitary organisations and the most awaited tableau of all states representing the rich culture and heritage of India.

Rajasthan: Women Handicraft

The tableau of Rajasthan in the Republic Day parade demonstrated the development of women’s handicraft industries, nurtured along with the festive culture of Rajasthan.

Uttar Pradesh: ‘Ayodhya: Viksit Bharat-Samradh Virasat’

The theme of Uttar Pradesh’s tableau was based on ‘Ayodhya: Viksit Bharat-Samradh Virasat’. The tableau symbolised the Pranpratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla, showcasing his childhood form.

Chhattisgarh: Traditional Democratic Values

The tableau of Chhattisgarh reflected the democratic consciousness and traditional democratic values present in the tribal communities since ancient times. The tableau has been decorated with “bell-metal and terracotta artefacts” to depict the traditional arts and crafts.

Odisha: Women Empowerment

The tableau of Odisha depicted the achievements of women empowerment as well as the state’s rich handicraft and handloom sector.

Manipur: ‘Nari Shakti’

Manipur demonstrated its ‘Nari Shakti’ with ‘Ima Keithel’, the 500-year-old market, one and only in the world run entirely by women via its tableau in the Republic Day parade.

Madhya Pradesh: ‘Self-Reliant and Progressive’ Women

The tableau of Madhya Pradesh portrayed the ‘Self-reliant and progressive; women of the state.

Arunachal Pradesh: Singchung Bugun Village Community Reserve

The tableau of Arunachal Pradesh on Kartavya Path depicted the Singchung Bugun Village Community Reserve, a biodiversity hotspot in the state.

Haryana: ‘Mera Parivar-Meri Pehchan’

The theme of Haryana’s tableau this year was ‘Mera Parivar-Meri Pehchan’ – a program of the Haryana Government. The tableau was crafted as a traditional symbol of empowerment for Haryanvi women.

The Republic Day Parade started at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path.
