K. Srimathi: Empowering Women and Inspiring Students as a Leader in Education

K. Srimathi encourages women to be brave and bold like lionesses, refusing to succumb to fear and demonstrating their capabilities with confidence. She believes that Victory awaits for those who persistently strive to prove themselves despite the odds.

K. Srimathi, born and raised in Chennai to the late Mrs. S K Indira and the late Mr. S Krishnaswamy, the author of two acclaimed Tamil books, one of which was honoured as “The Best Book of the State,” by the Government of Tamilnadu. Married to Mr. V Ananthasayanam, an Assistant Commandant, (Admin.) in CRPF, AVADI, CHENNAI, she is blessed with a daughter and a son. Since 1994, K. Srimathi has been serving as an employee of the Government of India, Ministry of Education, under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), in different JNVS.

As a Post Graduate Teacher for English at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), she promoted English among talented rural students and diligently spread the policies of GOI, CBSE, NCERT, and NVS, time to time. Presently, she has been doing administrative roles, as Vice Principal. Proudly embracing her identity as a woman in the Democratic, Independent India, K Srimathi views women as multifaceted individuals, adept at navigating both personal and professional responsibilities.

She acknowledges the challenges and obstacles faced by women in their journey, emphasizing the need for courage, resilience, and self-confidence to overcome them. In her view, facing adversities with determination and dignity is essential for women to progress and succeed.

She advises dealing boldly with treacherous individuals and situations, advocating for silent avoidance and neglect rather than confrontation. K.
