Dr. Swati Ajay Kulkarni is an accomplished academician, researcher, and mentor with an impressive 24 years of teaching experience, including 15 years at the Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune). Currently serving as the Dean of Student Affairs at AIT, she also held the role of Head of the Department for six years. Throughout her career, Dr. Swati has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence, student welfare, and research.
Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, in 1994. She further pursued a Master’s in Engineering (ME) from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in 2004. A significant milestone in her research career was achieved in 2015 when she earned a PhD in Civil Engineering from SVNIT, Surat, Gujarat.
Dr. Kulkarni’s contributions to academia are extensive. She has published 12 International Journal papers, 13 International Conference papers, four National Journal papers, and three National Conference papers. She has also authored two books and one book chapter, reflecting her dedication to knowledge dissemination. Actively staying updated with emerging trends, she frequently participates in seminars, workshops, and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs).
Her outstanding work has earned her six prestigious awards, underlining her excellence in research and education. She has also secured two research grants, which further reinforce her capability to drive impactful studies. As a mentor, she has guided three MTech students and is currently supervising four PhD scholars, shaping the next generation of engineering professionals.
Dr. Swati is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), the Institution of Engineers (IEI), and the Indian chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), reflecting her strong commitment to the engineering community.
Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Dr. Swati Ajay Kulkarni is a passionate artist and wellness enthusiast. She pursued a diploma in interior designing from Dalvi’s Art Institute, Kolhapur, in 1999, showcasing her creative abilities. Her commitment to holistic well-being is evident in her Yoga Teacher Certification from Yog Vidya Dham, Nasik, obtained in 2010. She is also an avid photographer and painter, expressing her artistic vision across mediums.
Outside of her professional and artistic life, she enjoys traveling and reading, which she believes broadens her horizons and supports continuous learning. Her multifaceted personality and ability to balance technical expertise with artistic passion make her an inspiration to both students and peers.
