The trailer for Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar introduces the couple, who are both working hard not to be the first to split up
The trailer for Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has finally been released. This romantic comedy, directed by Luv Ranjan, promises scorching chemistry between the lead couple and offers a colorful fresh take on the genre. As the characters of Ranbir and Shraddha easily fall in love but struggle to split up, they must deal with a slew of bizarre scenarios that put their patience to the test.
The three-and-a-half minute-long trailer introduces the lead as they each discuss the new-age relationship where, “ajkal partnerships mein ghusna asaan he, usme se nikalna mushkil. Todna mushkil, rishta jorna asaan he.” (These days, it is simpler to get into partnerships but more difficult to get out of them. Making a relationship is simple, but breaking it is difficult.) Ranbir tries to woo Sharddha by asking if she is interested in love or time pass, to which she responds, “Time pass bhi toh aise kisi ke saath nhi kar sakti na. “Uske bhi layek milna chahiye.” (I can’t just do timepass with anyone; I need someone who is suitable.) As things progress, they develop a casual relationship, and their families become involved. Both of them get engaged while attempting to act as if they did not initiate the breakup.
Ranbir recently spoke about his forthcoming projects during a Red Sea International Film Festival interview, revealing that Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will be his final romantic comedy. “I don’t know,” the actor added of his character in the film, “but it’s definitely going to be one of the last romantic comedies I do because I’m growing older.” The audience applauded him and stated that this is not true because he is only getting younger. Ranbir, 40, has been in a lot of romantic comedies throughout his career.
The most recent Romantic Comedy of Ranbir was Jagga Jasoos in 2017.
Shraddha was recently seen in a cameo role in Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya. Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra was Ranbir’s most recent film. He co-starred in the film with Alia Bhatt, which became the year’s biggest blockbuster.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is produced by Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg and directed by Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar for T-Series. The film will be released in theaters on Holi, March 8th, this year.
