Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioned the relationship between billionaire Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, exhibiting an image of the two. The treasury benches reacted angrily to his remarks in Lok Sabha, with Union law minister Kiren Rijiju telling him not to make “wild allegations” and to provide proof of his statements. Speaker Om Birla objected to Rahul Gandhi exhibiting a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adani aboard Adani’s jet to highlight their widely perceived intimacy.
Gandhi further claimed that the government changed the regulations in favor of Adani, claiming that those with no prior experience in airport building were previously barred from participating in airport development.
