‘Rocket Boys’, ‘Khakee’ List of Top 10 Desi Shows Of 2022, According To IMDb

In the entertainment world, 2022 was primarily about drama, crime, and thrills, according to the desi shows that were released this year. This year, we saw great shows/series that kept us on the edge of our seats, such as Rocket Boys, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, and The Fame Game. IMDb, a popular online database of information about films, television series, and OTT streaming content, has selected some of the best shows from this year.

According to IMDb ratings, we have chosen 10 such shows/series for 2022:

1. Rocket Boys (8.9)

Rocket Boys is a biographical TV series based on the lives of India’s two great physicists, Homi J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai, starring Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh. It debuted on SonyLIV and has two seasons, both of which debuted this year. Do not miss it, science and history buffs.

2. Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (8.4)

The crime thriller TV series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, directed by Neeraj Pandey, depicts how an IPS officer tracks down a feared gangster. The story takes place in the districts of Sheikhpura, Nalanda, and Patna. Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwary, Abhimanyu Singh, Ravi Kishan, and Ashutosh Rana are among the ensemble cast members.

3. Tanaav – (8.6)

Tanaav, Sudhir Mishra’s adaptation of the Israeli TV series Fauda, premiered on SonyLIV in November of this year. Manav Vij, Arbaaz Khan, Adil Hussain, Rajat Kapoor, Zarina Wahab, and others star in the sociopolitical drama. The story takes place in 2017, during a conflict between insurgents in the Kashmir Valley and the state-run Special Task Group.

4. Human- (7.9)

Human, a medical thriller TV series starring Shefali Shah and Kirti Kulhari, premiered on Disney+Hotstar earlier this year. It deals with exposing the nexus of pharmaceutical companies, private hospitals, and government officials who exploit the poor against the backdrop of human drug testing.

5. Mukhbir: The Spy’s Story- (7.8)

Maloy Krishna Dhar’s novel Mission to Pakistan: An Intelligence Agent in Pakistan was adapted into Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy. Mukhbir, directed by Shivam Nair, tells the story of an Indian secret agent sent to Pakistan to gather intelligence during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. Prakash Raj, Zain Khan Durrani, Adil Hussain, and others star.

6. Criminal Justice- Adhura Sach- (7.8)

Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, directed by Rohan Sippy, is the third instalment in the Criminal Justice franchise. The courtroom drama, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Swastika Mukherjee, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Purab Kohli, depicts the murder of a teenage celebrity.

7. Mai– (7.1)

Mai, produced by Anushka Sharma and starring Sakshi Tanwar, tells the heartbreaking story of a grieving mother who discovers the criminals responsible for her daughter’s tragic death. While Wamiqa Gabbi plays the daughter in this Netflix drama, Raima Sen plays the antagonist who is responsible for the murder.

8. The Great Indian Murder (7.1)

The Great Indian Murder, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, is a crime-mystery TV series based on Vikas Swarup’s novel Six Suspects. It follows the murder case of notorious industrialist Vicky Rai, who is killed at a party, and stars Richa Chadha, Pratik Gandhi, Ashutosh Rana, Sharib Hashmi, and Raghuvir Yadav, to name a few. In February of this year, it debuted on Disney+Hotstar.

9. Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein (7)

Yes, Kaali. Kaali Ankhein tells the story of an engineering graduate who wishes to leave his hometown to start a new life with his girlfriend. However, because a politician-gangster daughter is obsessed with him, he finds it difficult to leave. It was released on Netflix in January of this year, starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi, and Anchal Singh.

10. The Fame Game (6.8)

Madhuri Dixit’s film The Fame Game tells the story of Anamika Anand, a fictional Bollywood superstar who goes missing one day. Anamika’s private life quickly becomes the talk of the town, and many dark secrets emerge during the investigation. It also discusses the media, nepotism, and queers. The Fame Game, which was released in February, also stars Sanjay Kapur and Manav Kaul.
